There’s some bleed-over here. In my professional life I’ve been in technology roles for well over a decade, and as a hobby nearly 30 years. In many instances though, my love and interest in technology bleeds into other things.
I’ve built harnesses to provide compatibility for racing parts, done some DIY software tuning yielding respectable increases in engine power, and run a more involved than average environment in our home to allow for using Active Directory as well as ad-blocking with Pi-Hole to intercept ads at a DNS level and a bit of creative network management to keep IoT devices from being able to communicate beyond the necessities. Our environment is largely Windows-based, though I do also have a degree of experience with *nix-based operating systems like Linux Mint.

I play video games now and again, with Counter-Strike being a particular favorite. But aside from FPS games, I also enjoy racing games, some RPGs, and puzzle games. I additionally play rhythm games in an attempt to keep in shape, though I’m not nearly as good as I was in my younger years.
A goal for 2025 is to move from ESXi to Hyper-V for virtual machine management. Despite a small user-base, I still like to have the environment to keep my skills sharp, rather than falling back to a typical workgroup solution.
